#Nomos, Childless and Childfree

I have attached a flow chart I found on Facebook on trying to decide on whether or not to have children.   Some of it gets cut off when I put it into this post.

I am one of the twenty percent (and the percentage is growing) of women who have entered menopause without having children.   For some women it was a conscious choice and some it was a result of circumstance.

The Wild Rumpus

Maurice Sendak died yesterday, as most of us have heard.  I watched, for the second time, his interview with Steven Colbert and then also heard an interview from last September on KPBS. Both interviews were revealing in the life of Sendak, and both showed sides of him that can be summed up by his own words, The Wild Rumpus.

The Complexities of Cohabitation

This week I told two friends I was going to be doing a blog post about an opinion piece written by a therapist in the New York Times called The Downside of Cohabitating before Marriage.   This article stated that cohabitating actually had a negative impact on the happiness of ma

Moms, Office and Home

I’m pissed. This battle continues between stay-at-home Moms and (what I call) office Moms.  I call them office Moms because I believe all Moms work, some just don’t get paid for it.

I recently read this post online and felt some of the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
