Here's How It Works in Your Life
If you ever wondered about how it was for humans in ancient times to "make a living" - to become a part of a "guild" or even to "apprentice" with one's own month - to work with metal, cobblers who made shoes, fighters for the military or keeping track of the grain for the winter, politicians to lead, or storytellers to inspire - then this is going to make sense to you. People are not exempt from "the animal survival instincts," and as animals ourselves, it turns out that women too, have a natural drive to make their way in the world through work roles that have them balancing work with family and friends - to be feeling most "alive," "vital," "passionate about life," and truly serving others as women.
To the ancients, there was a way this whole process started - when children formally were recognized and celebrated as adults after getting some training from their parents about the adult world - and that was called "initiation."
The elder parents of the village would train children at a trade or craft or role, as well as the general skills of tribal life, finding, hunting or growing food, survival protections like shelter and clothing, and also how to marry and eventually parent their own children, so that they would be prepared not only for their "initiation ritual" - being sent out into the elements of nature, alone, to test their mettle and survival skill, or like the mythical Arachne, be assigned an adult womanly task with a time limit - a contest to assess her abilities at adult roles - then to render a judgement of the child's ability, and a return to society fully equipped to function as adults in the society.
This is missing today as a formal ritual, but people still need to learn adult skills and roles somehow, anyway. The lack of specific training we believe to be a great cause of suffering and confusion in the minds of people. When they have trouble deciding on a career, keeping a job, or even feeling good about how their lives are going.
