Movies with lessons for women and/or men

Hi Dr Paul

I found the following list of "top 5" movies on your website:

1. : Love in the Time of Cholera (2007)
2. : Ordinary People (1980)
3. : Annie Hall (1977)
4. : Sliding Doors (2000)
5. : Wicker Park (2005)

I just watched "Ordinary People" and I really enjoyed it but am struggling to see the lessons for women's growth...is this list above intended for women or men? If it's the latter do you have a top 5 list of movies for women? And if it's the former what is the lesson for women which I have totally missed in "Ordinary People"- the film seems to be mainly about men to me, and their personal growth...the main female character fails to evolve at all in the film and rather than becoming "empowered" in any way resists this process and opts out of personal growth....??

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Darn, I've seen all of those movies except for "Ordinary People." I think the list is food for thought. There's a lot to be learned from a good movie, or better yet, a good story no matter where it comes from. The list is not meant to be an "end all, be all."
